Why Recycle Electronics / Computers?

recyclemanOne of the worst pollutants that create toxic waste is e-waste. The long list of hazardous substances contained in e-waste are: mercury, lead, sulfur, americium, PCB’s, cadmium, and beryllium oxide. All electronics should be recycled because if we don’t recycle them, they get taken to the dump with general household trash. The local dump is not set up to properly process these items and they may contaminate the whole landfill, and surrounding environment.  By improperly dumping electronic waste, not only is the environment contaminated, but eventually your children will be exposed to more, and more toxic substances as they grow. They will be forced to drink water and breathe air that will be continually getting more toxic.
